1. turn on the scanner and wait for LED indicator lights solidly
2. go to start -> control panel -> system -> device manager -> other device
3. remove the item 'USB device' in 'other device' section
4. reboot your PC and then turn on your scanner to try again (NO NEED to reinstall ScanWizard5)
1. Turn off your scanner.
2. Reboot your PC.
3. Run setup.exe from the driver you downloaded.
4. follow the instructions to proceed
5. reboot pc to complete update processes.

1. click start -> program -> Microtek ScanWizard 5 for Windows -> scanner test
2. click the button named 'flatbed' at bottom-left corner
3. place a color original on the scanning bed (glass)
4. click 'ok' button
5. observe the scan out
No color -> bring the scanner to your local service center or make a phone call to the service center
Having color:
1. in advanced interface, check preference->invert, it should be NO tick next this option, or
2. check scanning type, make sure it is in a color scanning setting, or
3. make a phone call to the local service center for assist.
double check the power adapter you used:
15Vdc, 1.25A or 1.33A for SM-V6USL, SM3600, SM3700, SM3750i, SM4600 and SM4700.
12Vdc, 1.25A for C3, C6, SM3800, SM4800, SM4900 and SM5900.
Follow the steps list below to set the default scanner:
1. double click LAN Wizard
2. select the desired scanner from scanners list
3. click 'Set as Default' button so that a symbol 'v' would be appeared next the scanner icon you selected.
4. close LAN Wizard and then try again
